Intermediate-Level Preschool in Cupertino

Preschool Education Program for Children Starting at 3 Years

Curious Twiga Intermediate Level Preschool is designed for children who are ready to progress beyond a beginner-level preschool program. At Safari Kid Cupertino, we introduce a more structured and challenging curriculum while preserving the hands-on exploration, movement, conversation, and play that keep young children engaged.

Teacher-guided activities help children practice concentration, interact with peers, and develop greater independence. Small class sizes and individualized care and attention allow us to respond to each child’s learning style and developmental needs.

Five Areas of Whole Child Development

Early academic skills develop alongside communication, movement, relationships, emotional growth, and self-care. Our research-driven curriculum connects these areas through interactive experiences, nurturing guidance, and open-ended exploration.

Curious Twiga supports five areas of Whole Child Development:

  • Cognitive Development: Hands-on learning encourages children to explore ideas, approach problems, and make connections.
  • Language and Literacy Development: Stories, conversation, vocabulary, and group speaking provide varied opportunities to use and understand language.
  • Physical Development: Gross motor development, fine motor development, movement, and sensory experiences are incorporated into learning.
  • Social and Emotional Development: Cooperative experiences give children opportunities to recognize feelings, consider other perspectives, and participate in a group.
  • Health and Care Development: The curriculum supports children as they develop greater awareness of personal care and well-being.

A Clear Path Through the Preschool Years

Our Cupertino center offers a developmental pathway from Entry Level Preschool to Intermediate Level Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten. This progression helps families consider their child’s current stage and the next level of learning.

Our educational approach draws from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and other respected methodologies. We balance predictable guidance with play-based learning, ongoing assessments, and opportunities for children to follow their curiosity. Regular communication, parent collaboration, and family events keep families connected to their child’s experience.

Preschool Readiness Beyond Early Academics

Readiness for the next stage of learning involves more than recognizing letters, numbers, or patterns. Children also need opportunities to communicate their needs, cooperate with peers, manage emotions, participate in a group, and approach unfamiliar tasks.

Advanced hands-on learning supports problem-solving skills and adaptability, while language exploration supports communication and cultural awareness. Cooperative play and emotional learning give children practice with kindness, empathy, perspective-taking, and emotional intelligence.
