Safari Cub Toddler Care: Play-Based Learning for Toddlers in Mission San Jose

Your toddler is an adventurer, and Safari Cub Toddler Care is designed to meet that energy with purpose. Starting at 18 months, our toddler program at Safari Kid Fremont - Mission gives children in the Mission San Jose area of Fremont a curriculum-grounded environment where play-based learning supports developmental progress across every domain of growth.

We draw from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and other respected early childhood methodologies to build a program that does more than provide supervised care. Our overarching goal is Whole Child Development: nurturing cognitive, social, physical, emotional, and language growth together, not in isolation. The toddler years are a period of rapid change, and the environment around your child shapes how that change unfolds.

Five Development Domains Inside Safari Cub Toddler Care

Every activity in our toddler program is anchored to one of five named development domains. Ongoing assessments track each child’s progress across all five, so we can tailor the experience to where your child actually is, not where a calendar says they should be.

Cognitive Development
Educators guide toddlers in recognizing shapes, colors, and numbers through activities that feel like discovery. Puzzles, games, sensory exploration, art, and imaginative play build problem-solving skills and encourage self-expression from the start.

Language & Literacy Development
Toddlers learn to follow simple instructions, express their wants and needs verbally, and begin engaging in back-and-forth conversation with peers. Books and print are woven into daily routines, laying early groundwork for reading and communication.

Physical Development
Large motor skills, coordination, and balance develop through tricycle riding, balance beam walks, and obstacle courses. Fine motor skills grow through sensory exploration, manipulation of small objects, and practice with drawing and writing tools.

Social & Emotional Development
Learning to name feelings, take turns, and engage positively with peers doesn’t happen automatically. Our educators actively teach these skills through guided cooperative play, modeling, and patient reinforcement, building the social foundation that supports later school readiness.

Health & Care Development
Toddlers are guided toward healthy choices, small goal-setting, and beginning to identify and regulate their own emotions. These habits build self-awareness, confidence, and early stress-management skills children carry beyond the toddler years.

What Makes Our Fremont Toddler Program Different

Many programs describe themselves as nurturing. We can tell you specifically how ours is structured and who is in the room with your child every day.

The WISDOM Learning Path

Our proprietary WISDOM Learning Path guides how toddlers learn at Safari Kid Fremont - Mission. Each letter names a condition we actively build into the program: Wonder, Imagination, Security, Discussion, Observation, and Mentorship. Security deserves particular attention at the toddler stage. Before a child can explore confidently, they need to feel safe. Our learning environment is designed to provide that foundation first, so curiosity has room to follow.

Educators Who Know Toddlers

Our director, Ms. Geetha, holds AMS Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Credentials alongside a Site Supervisor Permit, a Bachelor of Arts, and a Master of Arts and has been directing this location for more than 15 years. Our owner, Ms. Gowri, brings Early Childhood Credentials, a Site Supervisor Permit, and 15-plus years of experience as Director and President across multiple Safari Kid locations.

In the toddler classroom, Ms. Mangai brings more than 8 years of preschool and toddler teaching experience, holds ECE Credentials, and incorporates yoga and mindfulness into daily classroom life. Ms. Shawna holds Early Childhood Credentials and teaches alongside her. This is the team your child would be with.

Staying Connected as a Family

We use Procare as our parent communication platform, keeping you connected to your child’s daily experiences. Regular assessments, family events, and ongoing communication are all part of how we maintain a genuine home-school partnership. You stay informed, and your input shapes how we refine our approach for your child.
