A Nurturing Place For Growing Minds

Choosing a daycare is one of the biggest decisions you make in your child’s early years. You want a place that feels warm the moment you walk in, where your child is safe, known by name, and encouraged to explore. You also want early learning that feels meaningful, not just busy work.

At Safari Kid Livermore, we understand how much trust it takes to leave your child in someone else’s care. Our learning center combines attentive care with a research-driven early childhood program that supports each child’s curiosity, confidence, and development. We work to create an experience that feels like an extension of home, with the added benefit of a carefully designed learning environment.

We are recognized for our holistic curriculum that draws from Montessori, Reggio Emilia, and other respected philosophies. Here, our team brings that curriculum to life in a way that fits the needs of local families and their children, from infancy through the early elementary years.

A Day Inside Our Milpitas Center

It is easier to feel at peace about care when you can picture your child’s day. At our learning center, the daily rhythm is predictable enough to feel safe, yet flexible enough to meet children where they are. We adjust details by age group, but the focus on connection and engagement stays constant.

For infants, days center on responsive care and secure relationships. Teachers follow each baby’s individual schedule for feeding and sleep, while weaving in gentle songs, tummy time, sensory play, and warm interactions. We hold babies often, talk with them throughout routines, and pay close attention to their cues so they feel understood and comforted.

Toddlers usually thrive with a bit more structure. Their day may include a short morning gathering, time to explore different interest areas such as blocks, art, and dramatic play, outdoor play when possible, a shared snack, and rest. Teachers prepare invitations to play that encourage language, problem-solving, and early social skills, then stay nearby to guide and encourage.

Preschool and pre-kindergarten children benefit from longer stretches of focused exploration. They might begin with a morning meeting to build community, then rotate through learning centers that support early literacy, numeracy, science, and creative expression. Projects and small group work help them practice cooperation and communication, while stories and songs build vocabulary and listening skills.

Drop off and pick up are important parts of the day, especially for children who are new to a program. Our team greets families by name, offers brief updates, and helps children separate in ways that suit their personality. Some children feel ready to join an activity right away, while others need a quieter transition. We work with you to find routines that make those moments easier.

Throughout the day, our educators focus on creating a calm, inviting atmosphere. We manage transitions with songs, visual cues, and gentle reminders, which help children feel secure even as activities change. The goal is for your child to come home feeling both pleasantly tired and proud of what they experienced.

How We Support Growth & Care

Families often ask how our program supports learning without making early childhood feel too academic. We believe children learn best through meaningful play, rich language, and hands-on exploration. Skills grow naturally when children have opportunities to explore letters, sounds, numbers, and patterns in ways that make sense to them.

In early literacy, children might listen to stories, retell them with props, or dictate their own stories to a teacher. They explore letters through tactile materials, songs, and games. For early math, children count during daily routines, compare quantities, sort objects, and build with shapes. These experiences build strong foundations for later reading and problem-solving.

Social and emotional growth is just as important. Our classrooms are communities where children learn to share materials, take turns, and express their feelings. Teachers model language for solving conflicts, such as asking for a turn or explaining how an action made someone feel. We teach simple strategies like taking deep breaths or visiting a quiet space when emotions feel big.

Physical development is woven into everyday life. Children practice fine motor skills through drawing, building, and using child-safe learning tools. Gross motor experiences might include dancing, obstacle courses, and outdoor play. Movement supports both health and the ability to focus during quieter activities.

Health and care routines are handled with consistency and respect. We guide regular handwashing, support toileting in developmentally appropriate ways, and keep environments clean and orderly. Rest times are calm and predictable, with soft lighting and soothing sounds, so children can recharge. When children have allergies or specific health needs, we work with families to understand and accommodate them within our policies.

Because we focus on the whole child, teachers regularly observe and document growth in each domain. We use this information to adjust classroom experiences and to share meaningful updates with parents, rather than relying only on generic progress reports. Our goal is to help you see how your child is growing, not only what they are doing.
